The Pudelpointer has the following standard:
Build: Medium size, almost square, muscled, males 23.5-27 in, females 21.5-25 in tall.
Constitution: Strong and lean, while noble and sprightly nature
Color: Dark brown, dry leaves or black-colored dogs are allowed.
Small white markings are not relevant.
Hair: Closed, hard, tight, medium length double coat with good undercoat and a beard.
Head: Harmonious long and wide, according to sex type with a pronounced stop.
Nose straight, dark nose. Head hair rough with heavy beard and a pronounced hair
on the eyebrows, forehead curl.
Eyes: Lateral standing, large, bright, dark amber with a tight-fitting lid margins.
Muzzle: Strong and not pointed, strong, properly closed scissors bite.
Ears: Medium size, lying, but not fleshy, well coated.
Lips: Closed, tight.
Neck: Medium length, well muscled, slightly arched neck.
Chest: Broad, deep, ribs well sprung.
Back: Short, tight, strong, muscular loin and well muscled taut. Croup medium long
oblique, but not steep or long. Transition from croup and tail in an unbroken line.
The tail must be straight and should not be worn upright steep.
Forehand: Shoulder and front legs well angulated and muscled, and well attached. Good
reach. Elbows well back, well attached, not outward rotation. Front legs in front
and from the side standing straight.
Hindquarters: Upper and lower thigh well angled and muscular. Knee, ankle and foot joint
means seen from the back straight, not outward rotation.
Feet: Round to oval, closed. Pads coarse, hairy paws and legs not too long.
Motion: Harmonic springs with large-scale steps.
